How to Choose the Right Sports Surface Contractor

The right contractor is crucial for successful sports court construction. However, not all contractors are equal and it’s essential that you take the time to assess their credibility. Afterall, you want a high-quality sports court that meets your needs and lasts for years, not a bun fight with a shady tradie!

The Sweet Sweaty Smell of Success

When you want to smash your limits on the court, you need a court that’s going to outlast you and you need a contractor the good guys want to play with!

Take us, for example. We’re New Zealand’s sole agent for Laykold®, authorised installers of the official court system played on at the US Open. Likewise, we’re also authorised to install Omnicourt® artificial grass products. You don’t get better than that!

Play Your Court

Do your homework!

Just like a good athlete, you need to do the work behind the scenes. Suss out the contractors, identify their strengths and weaknesses and ask around.

You want to hear reviews like this:

‘Rod [from Prestige Sports Surfaces] gave us a level of confidence and assurance that the job would be done properly, and he really does do quality work. He has absolutely delivered and we’re really happy with the work he’s done. I have no hesitation in recommending him to other clubs.’ – Colin Finnie, Burwood Park Tennis Club

Where possible, check out the contractors work in person. A good contractor will be visible and, even if their work is private, they’ll arrange for you to view the courts they’ve installed.

However, permission isn’t necessary to view Prestige Sports Surfaces’ work! We were responsible for installing the twelve International Tennis Federation-certified tennis courts at Christchurch’s Nga Puna Wai Sports Precinct. A popular hub for elite tennis, hockey, athletics, and rugby league, netball has recently joined the party with a large indoor complex to complement this incredible sporting facility.

Sport to the Core

At the end of the day, we love all sport, and we want people to be enjoying playing as much as we do. And that’s why we stand by our specialist sports and multi-purpose surfaces.

We invite you to do your homework and check us out in person, over the phone and on the side-lines. Afterall, in the words of Lewis Carrol, famous British author and handy tennis player, ‘In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take.’
